“Made in China” Walter Edwards
I was born in the US and came to Japan in 2003. After arriving in Japan, I became
more interested in the traditional cultures of the East and the history behind
everything. In September of 2006, I traveled to China for the first time. As I
was able to observe the city-life, see the remnants of old China in the countryside,
and converse with people, my mood was elevated each time I took another photograph.
I think that photos are a medium for cultural exchange.
This exhibition is a portrayal of Shanghai, Xi-an, and the Shaolin Temple. It
is a portrayal of the experiences I had in China that moved me.
